“Hospitals across the country are combining ‘wellness care’ with ‘illness care’ as it makes sense that keeping individual’s healthy is the future of healthcare,” stated local cardiologist John Minotti, M.D. “The SLH Wellness Center promotes healing and assists individuals in their personal journey toward greater physical, mental-emotional, and spiritual health. I encourage the public to attend FitFest – to partake in the classes or to ask questions, take a mini-tour and to help us with this opportunity to make an investment that will return health benefits for years.”
In the Fall of 2010, the SLH Wellness Center had approximately 313 community members and hospital employees using its broad array of programs and services. Today, that number is more than 525 and continues to grow weekly. The SLH Wellness Center offers affordable memberships in a safe, clean and compassionate environment, and has scholarship opportunities.
Offering leading-edge programs such as those offered at the Wellness Center is one more way Sutter Lakeside Hospital is demonstrating its commitment to high quality health care and health improvement.

Cohill will assume responsibilities in his new role effective Jan. 1, 2012, when Dr. Brotman transitions to the system role of senior vice president, education, research and philanthropy.
Cohill will lead the region that spans from San Francisco to Lake County and includes four medical centers/hospitals – CPMC; Novato Community Hospital, Sutter Medical Center of Santa Rosa, and Sutter Lakeside Hospital – as well as Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation and a variety of outpatient care centers.
Major new hospital construction projects are either underway (Santa Rosa) or in the planning and entitlement phases (San Francisco). The region has more than 8,000 employees and 1,700 affiliated physicians and allied health care professionals.
“Following in Dr. Brotman’s footsteps is not going to be easy; he has done a tremendous job in leading Sutter Health’s West Bay Region in its formative years,” said Cohill. “I look forward to continuing our transformational work with the extraordinary, talented team in the region — world-class physicians and nurses, dedicated support staff, and skilled administrators. Together, we will improve how we deliver our services to ensure our high-quality health care is even more accessible and more affordable for our patients.”
Cohill has been part of the Sutter Health network of care for 30 years. In his current role as CEO of Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation, he has worked to establish strong relationships within the West Bay physician community and Sutter Health’s West Bay Board of Directors and helped lead the entitlement process for the new Sutter Medical Center of Santa Rosa campus.
Previously, in his role as a senior vice president at Sutter Health, he oversaw and helped advance multiple key operations, including Supply Chain, Sutter Care at Home, Facilities Planning & Development, Sutter Operating System and Sutter Coast Hospital.
Cohill has also held senior administrative positions for physician organizations and hospitals in Sutter’s Sacramento Sierra, West Bay and Central Valley regions – establishing a reputation for collaboration, distilling complex issues and solid financial performance.
Fry reported that “Cohill’s extensive experience, coupled with the breadth and depth of his expertise in physician organizations, hospitals and integration, makes him the ideal individual to undertake leadership of the region as it continues its focus on care quality and affordability through improved coordination of services.”
Hailing from a family of health care practitioners, Cohill holds a bachelor’s degree in biology; he also holds a master’s degree in hospital and health services administration from Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri.
