In an 11:15 a.m. discussion that continues from the July 14 and Aug. 18 board meetings, the board will consider possible action relating to the sheriff's Drug Enforcement Administration grant and an employee's use of contracted helicopters services that the grant covers.
In late June, Sgt. Dave Garzoli was involved in a forced landing of a rented helicopter while undergoing flight training, as Lake County News has reported. That led to the July 14 board discussion, at which time supervisors requested flight logs and other documents from Sheriff Rod Mitchell.
The board was scheduled to take up the matter again on Aug. 18, but it was held over to give County Counsel Anita Grant more time to go through the voluminous documents submitted by Mitchell.
The board will also discuss county parks business.
Beginning at 10:45 a.m., the supervisors will consider a proposed ordinance creating a curfew from sunset to sunrise – unless launching or retrieving a water vessel – at the Hamilton Boat Ramp located at Lakeshore Boulevard and Crystal Lake Way, Lakeport.
They board also will consider a proposed ordinance amending Article VI of Chapter 15 of the Lake County Code restricting the operation of bicycles, skateboard, scooters, roller skates and in-line skates at Nylander Park, Clearlake Oaks Plaza, Hinman County Park, Upper Lake Tennis Court and the Middletown Tennis Court.
