City receives $800,000 HOME grant

LAKEPORT – Redevelopment Director Richard Knoll has announced that the City of Lakeport has been awarded an $800,000 grant from the California Department of Housing and Community Development HOME Program.


The HOME Grant proceeds will be utilized by the city to fund First Time Homebuyer and Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation programs for low-income residents.

 

 

This is the second $800,000 HOME Program grant awarded to the city of Lakeport since 2007.

 

To date, numerous City of Lakeport residents have been assisted by the city’s various housing programs, with approximately $1 million expended on affordable housing projects in 2009.


Interested local licensed general contractors are encouraged to call Trisha Franco at 707-263-8841 to bid on rehabilitation projects.
