The meeting will take place at 2 p.m. at Clearlake City Hall, 14050 Olympic Drive.
On Nov. 5, following a joint meeting with the Clearlake Planning Commission, the council approved the temporary moratorium, which has a span of 45 days, as Lake County News has reported.
City Administrator Dale Neiman's staff report to the council for the meeting explains, “In order to extend the moratorium, you need to issue a written report that describes the measures taken to alleviate the condition which led to the adoption of the ordinance.”
That report, he added, must be issued 10 days prior to adoption of the ordinance to extend the moratorium.
If the council extend the moratorium, it will be in effect for another 10 months and 15 days, Neiman's report stated.
The three-page proposed ordinance is accompanied in the council packet by Los Angeles Times articles on medical marijuana dispensary issues around the state.
The city's draft ordinance to regulate medical marijuana dispensaries is currently working its way through the public hearing process.
The Clearlake Planning Commission held a hearing on the 20-page draft ordinance Dec. 1. That ordinance is expected to go through several more hearings before it's finalized.
