The firearms were stolen from a commercial storage locker in south Lakeport, according to Lt. Brad Rasmussen of Lakeport Police.
The burglary occurred sometime between Sunday night and Monday night, Rasmussen said. Lakeport Police took the report mid-morning on Tuesday.
Rasmussen said investigators currently are working with the man who rented the storage locker to get more information about the firearms, including models and manufacturers.
As far as estimating the total loss, “We don't have a value at this time,” Rasmussen said.
Rasmussen said police hope to put out more information about the case so the community can keep an eye out for the firearms.
However, he added that in his experience investigating stolen firearms in the past, “They've normally been sold or showed up out of county.”
