REGIONAL: Fairfield Police Department seeks leads on nursing student's murder

The Fairfield Police Department is seeking clues about the murder of a nursing student whose body was found in rural Napa County over the weekend.


Phuong Le, 25, was reported missing from the Fairfield/Suisun area on April 26, according to Fairfield Police. Her car was reportedly found parked at a Barnes and Noble bookstore where she frequently visited.


Police said that on May 7 a woman who had stopped to walk her dog alongside of Highway 121 in Napa County found the body of a female.


Also on that date, Fairfield Police contacted Napa County investigators regarding the description of the female, as it was believed it could have been that of Phuong Le.


Fairfield Police then began working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation to gather evidence at the scene and to confirm the identity of the deceased female. The body was transported to Solano County Coroners Office that evening.


On Monday the Solano County Coroner confirmed that the deceased female found in Napa

County was Phuong Le. Her family was notified later that day.


Fairfield Police have classified the young woman's death as a homicide and are working with partner agencies to solve this crime.
