KELSEYVILLE – Please join the Lake County Community Co-op in meeting another one of the community's many local farmers in beautiful Kelseyville.
Farm owners Dieter and Lois Renker are graciously giving the Lake County Community Co-op members and public a tour of their very diverse farm.
The tour is on Sunday, July 18, from 10 a.m. until noon.
Meet at the farm at 2297 Argonaut in Kelseyville (only a few doors down from Steele Wines, take Thomas Road off Highway 29 and turn right on Argonaut).
The tour is free and open to members and the public.
The Renkers have been selling produce at their 12 acre farm since 1990. They grow a wide array of produce: fruit trees (peach, apple, apricot, pear, etc), nut trees (almond, pecan, filbert, walnut), seedless grapes, flowers (gladiolas, zinnias, statice), strawberries, herbs, melons and plenty of vegetables.
In addition to growing produce from garlic to kiwis to “Thomcord” grapes (cross between Thompson and Concord grapes), Farmer Renker will be preparing for another exciting fall season with sunflowers, sweet corn, pumpkins and other winter squash, plus their famous corn maze for kids and adults alike.
Daughter, Gail Larson, and son Bob Renker, play a major part as well at this amazing and diverse family-owned farm.
The Renkers invite the public at 10 a.m. July 18 or anytime through most the year to stop by the farm where they run a market just steps outside their home’s front door.
One of the Lake County Community Co-op's goals is to educate Lake County residents on how to live more healthfully and sustainably by keeping it local.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to tour another local farm, meet good people, and have an opportunity to purchase fresh-picked, organic produce after the tour.
