Nomination papers available for Lakeport City Council

LAKEPORT – Official nomination papers will be available on Monday, July 12, for candidates who are interested in running for the Lakeport City Council.

There are two seats available, each for a four-year term.

The seats up for election this November currently are held by Mayor Jim Irwin and Councilman Ron Bertsch.

Interested candidates must be registered to vote and reside within the Lakeport city limits.

The deadline to file nomination papers for the council seats is Friday, Aug. 6, at 5 p.m.

Each candidate must be nominated by not less than 20 nor more than 30 registered voters.

It is recommended that interested candidates pick up their nomination papers well in advance of the deadline for filing to allow time to gather signatures.

If you are interested in running for Lakeport City Council, please contact City Clerk Janel Chapman at 707-263-5615, Extension 12, for further information and to set up an appointment to go over the nomination packet.
