LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Local residents wanting to get involved in community government are invited to apply for a number of local advisory boards positions.
The Board of Supervisors is seeking applicants to fill vacancies or seek reappointments on the following advisory boards:
Area 1 Developmental Disability Board: Two vacancies, Lake County residents.
Big Valley Groundwater Management Zone Commission: Two vacancies, water district category.
Child Care Planning and Development Council: Three vacancies, two in the consumer category and one in the child care provider category.
Clear Lake Advisory Committee: Three vacancies, one in the agriculture category, one in the environmental restoration category and one in the water quality category.
Countywide Parks and Recreation Advisory Board: Five vacancies, one in each supervisorial district.
Emergency Medical Care Committee: One vacancy in the community college district category.
Fish and Wildlife Advisory Committee: Three vacancies, one in the conservation/wildlife category and one in the law enforcement category; and one in Supervisorial District 3.
Glenbrook Cemetery District Board: Two vacancies, Supervisorial Districts 1 and/or 5.
In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Advisory Committee: Three vacancies, two in the senior consumer category and one in the disabled consumer category.
Mental Health Board: Three vacancies in the general membership category.
North Bay Cooperative Library Advisory Board: One vacancy, Lake County resident.
All appointments to the above-referenced advisory boards will be made after Dec. 1, 2010.
Memberships on the advisory boards are voluntary.
Applications are available at the Lake County Courthouse, Clerk of the Board’s Office, Room 109, 255 N. Forbes St., Lakeport.
Many advisory board seats expire on Jan. 1, 2011. For a comprehensive list, please see the posted roster outside the Clerk of the Board Office.
