SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE 2935


Changes to Chapter 5 of the Lake County Code are necessary to reflect changes in new building regulations that are required by the State of California to be adopted by January 1, 2011. Numerous updates to Chapter 5 are required. The most significant of these revisions are listed below.


1. Ordinance revisions to Chapter 5 of the Lake County Code adopting by reference the 2010 California Code of Regulations, Title 24, parts 1-6, and 8-12, incorporating the:

Title 24 part 1 - 2010 edition of the California Administrative Code,

Title 24 part 2 - 2010 edition of the California Building Code;

Title 24 part 2.5 - 2010 edition of the California Residential Code;

Title 24 part 3 - 2010 edition of the California Electrical Code;

Title 24 part 4 - 2010 edition of the California Mechanical Code;

Title 24 part 5 - 2010 edition of the California Plumbing Code;

Title 24 part 6 - 2010 edition of the California Energy Code;

Title 24 part 8 - 2010 edition of the California Historical Building Code;

Title 24 part 9 - 2010 edition of the California Fire Code;

Title 24 part 10 - 2010 edition of the California Existing Building Code;

Title 24 part 11 - 2010 edition of the California Green Building Code;

Title 24 part 12 - 2010 edition of the California Referenced Standards Code;

Plus the,

2009 International Wildland-Urban Interface Code,

2009 International Property Maintenance Code,


2. Updates and/or corrections of Articles and Sections of Chapter 5

Update Section 5-6.24 of the Lake County Code Miscellaneous Restrictions, to include Ag exempt structures in Chapter 5


The ordinance will take effect on the 6th day of January, 2011, and it was passed by the following vote on the 7th day of December, 2010:


AYES: Supervisors Comstock, Smith, Rushing, Brown and Farrington

NOES: None

ABSENT OR NOT VOTING: None
