The closed session will convene at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, in the council chambers at Clearlake City Hall, 14050 Olympic Drive.
City Administrator Dale Neiman left in November, and was replaced on an interim basis by then-Police Chief Allan McClain, who retired effective Dec. 30, as Lake County News has reported.
McClain told Lake County News last month that the council was working to appoint a longer-term interim administrator while it seeks a permanent replacement for Neiman.
In a special closed session held Dec. 28 the council appointed City Engineer Bob Galusha as interim city administrator because McClain was leaving.
City Clerk Melissa Swanson said Wednesday that Mayor Joyce Overton would announce any reportable action after the council emerges from closed session.
