Lakeport City Council plans special Aug. 30 meeting

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lakeport City Council has planned a special meeting for Tuesday night in order to discuss groundwater monitoring and approve a resolution seeking a statewide emergency regarding invasive mussels.


The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, in the council chambers at Lakeport City Hall, 225 Park St.

The main item of business is a proposed agreement with the consultant SHN Consulting Engineers & Geologists Inc. for groundwater monitoring at the City of Lakeport Municipal Services District.


On the council's consent agenda is a proposed resolution to support the county of Lake's request that Gov. Jerry Brown declare a statewide emergency resulting from infestation of Dreissenid mussels in some Southern California water bodies.
