Clearlake Police find dead body

CLEARLAKE – Clearlake Police reported Friday that officers located the body of a man.

 

A statement by Clearlake Police said that officers were dispatched to the area of Country Club Drive and Ridge Street at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in response to a report of a dead body.


Construction workers in the area had reportedly located the body of an older male adult in a wooded area behind their construction site, the CPD report noted.


Clearlake Police detective responded to the location and determined that the victim had been there for some time.


Upon further investigation, detectives found no obvious injuries or indications that an assault had occurred.


CPD reported that foul play currently is not suspected.


Authorities have identified the victim but his name is being withheld pending verification of family notification by the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
