Lakeport City Council to receive audit report, discuss summer day camp Tuesday

LAKEPORT, Calif. – This week the Lakeport City Council will consider a city audit report and continuing the Westshore Pool's summer day camp.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, in the council chambers at Lakeport City Hall, 225 Park St.

During public presentations, the city's auditor will present the audit. A copy of the report was not included with the council packet.

Under council business, Public Works Director Doug Grider will take to the council an application for the annual Cinco De Mayo Festival on Sunday, May 6, on Park Street.

The council also will continue a discussion from its last meeting on whether to continue the summer day camp program at the Westshore Pool, modify the camps to half-day sessions or suspend the program.

Community Development Director Richard Knoll will take to the council a report on staff efforts to retain an environmental consultant to prepare the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Community Facilities financing application environmental report.

Knoll's report to the council said staff has taken the actions based on the council's direction to pursue grant and loan financing for water and sewer rehabilitation and improvement projects.

The council also will hold a closed session to discuss a case of pending litigation, Operating Engineers Local Union No. 3 and Lakeport Police Officers Association v. City of Lakeport, Lakeport City Council (Lake County Superior Court Case No. CV410232), and employee negotiations with the Lakeport Police Officers Association and unrepresented employees.
