Board to present proclamations supporting Meals on Wheels, March food drive

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Board of Supervisors this week will honor efforts to feed those in need and clean up the national forest.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, in the board chambers on the first floor of the Lake County Courthouse, 255 N. Forbes St., Lakeport. TV8 will broadcast the meeting live.

At 9:10 a.m. the board will present two proclamations.

The first will designation March 2012 as Meals on Wheels Month in Lake County.

The second proclamation will be in support of the inaugural Lake County CAN! Food Drive, taking place this month.

At 9:30 a.m., supervisors will present another proclamation to the California Department of Fish & Game, the U.S. Forest Service, the city of Lakeport Police Department and community volunteers for their service in connection with the National Forest Grow-Site Reclamation Project.

In other business, at 9:35 a.m. the board will consider giving direction to staff regarding options to pursue for coming up with a funding match for a grant to update the Clean Lakes Report.

C-7: Approve agreement between the county of Lake and California Exterminators Alliance for roadside vegetation abatement in the amount of $33,500 and authorize the chair to sign.

C-8: Approve first amendment to memorandum of understanding between the county of Lake and Lake Transit Authority for bus passes for CalWORKSs participants (adjusting the total number of FY 2011-2014 passes from 250 to 171, per year), and authorize the chair to sign.

C-9: Approve third amendment to the joint powers agreement between the counties of Lake and Mendocino Area Agency on Aging for Planning and Service Area 26 (shifting administration to Lake County, clarifying the process of rotation of “at large” governing board members and establishing the matching fund obligations for the program based on the number of senior citizens in each county), and
authorize the chair to sign.
