City of Lakeport: Applications for grants to upgrade water, sewer systems

NOTICE OF INTENT AND PUBLIC MEETING

The City of Lakeport will file applications with the USDA Rural Development for financial assistance to upgrade the City’s water and sewer systems.

The proposed water projects are as follows: refinance acquisition of the Green Ranch wells, replace existing SCADA and telemetry system, extend and loop approximately 6,500 feet of 14-inch water mains on Parallel Drive and South Main Street, and replace approximately 2,291 existing water meters with low lead meters complete with automatic meter readers.

The proposed sewer projects are as follows: implement inflow and infiltration reduction projects in subservice areas 9B, 9C, 3C, and 4B; upsize 1,450 feet of 8-inch Main Street sewer to 12-inch from Clear Lake Avenue to 6th Street; relocate and replace Clear Lake Avenue Lift Station; install 530 feet of 16-inch force main in 30-inch casing under Highway 29; replace existing SCADA and telemetry system; and rehabilitate aeration basins with new shotcrete side slopes and sludge removal.

These projects will be conducted in all areas of Lakeport, California.

A public meeting for comments will be held at 2:00 p.m. on April 24, 2012 at City of Lakeport, City Council Chambers, 225 Park Street, Lakeport, CA to discuss the proposed project and to provide the opportunity for public comment.

All persons interested are cordially invited to attend.

Written comments are encouraged and should be sent to the 225 Park Street Lakeport, CA, 95935, prior to the hearing.

If no comments are received prior to or on the above date, it will be assumed that no comments are being offered.

The public is also informed that should this matter at some future date go to court, court testimony is limited to only those issues raised at the hearings per Government Code Section 65009.
