
LAKEPORT – A special commemoration of the 66th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor will be held this Friday, Dec. 7.
The Pearl Harbor Day Memorial Commemoration will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Library Park in Lakeport.
A special invitation is extended to Pearl Harbor survivors, families, friends, sweethearts and the public to attend.
The event will feature speakers and military ceremonies, and a chance to meet and speak with local Pearl Harbor survivors.
Later that day, the Pearl Harbor Survivors' Luncheon will be held at Carlos and Vinny's, 370 S. Main, Lakeport.
The luncheon also is open to the public.
A no-host bar opens at 12:30 p.m., with lunch served at 1 p.m.
Menu selections include prime rib sandwich, shrimp Waldorf salad or hot turkey plate with mashed potatoes and vegetable. Dessert is cheesecake with a special strawberry sauce.
The luncheon costs $15 per person, and reservations are required.
