LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate a man inmate who walked away from the Lake County Jail Sunday night.
David Allen Brown, 22, of Lakeport walked away from the jail on Hill Road at approximately 9:25 p.m. Sunday, according to Lt. Steve Brooks.
Brown, who was in minimum custody, was reported to have climbed over the male dorm yard fence and escaped from custody, Brooks said.
Brown was sentenced to the Hill Road Correctional Facility for a term of four years due to the Criminal Justice Realignment Act of 2011, Brooks said.
He said Brown had been in custody since April 14, 2012, and had a release date of Dec. 8, 2013.
Brooks said Brown was sentenced to do jail time for resisting arrest, parole violation, under the influence of a controlled substance, vehicle theft, possession of stolen property and petty theft with prior convictions.
Brown is described as a Caucasian male adult, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 185 pounds, with short blond hair and blue eyes. He also has numerous tattoos on his neck and arms. Brooks said Brown was last seen wearing a blue Hill Road Correctional Facility jacket, shirt and blue jeans.
