NORTHERN CALIFORNIA – Lake County wines, vintage rock ‘n roll music, food and wine pairings, and classic cars will highlight an afternoon event Saturday, May 25, at the California Automobile Museum.
The Lake County Winegrape Commission will host “Wine, Tunes & Classics,” a Lake County wine tasting event being held in conjunction with the 40th anniversary of the Sacramento Music Festival.
Featuring fine wines from Lake County, which was recently named one of five promising new wine regions by Food & Wine writer Ray Isle, the tasting event is slated for Saturday, May 25, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the museum, 2200 Front St., Sacramento.
Special food-and-wine pairings will be provided by Chic Le Chef and music will be provided by the LC Diamonds. The museum’s antique and classic car displays will be featured.
Admission price for the wine tasting is $40 per person. A special $50 combo ticket includes the Lake County wine tasting event plus a ticket for same-day admission to the Sacramento Music Festival. Attendees will receive an educational tasting booklet with information about the wines, the pairings, and several recipes.
“Lake County wineries are thrilled to be sharing their wines in Sacramento along with other ‘tastes’ of Lake County that include tasty bites and fun tunes by talented Lake County individuals,” said Lake County Winegrape Commission President Debra Sommerfield.
Julie Hoskins of Chic Le Chef in Middletown has put together an excellent selection of edible delights to be paired with wines, and the LC Diamonds will play a variety of danceable rock ‘n roll, rockabilly, blues, and surf tunes, said Sommerfield.
“We’re excited to be able to offer a combo ticket that allows attendees to enjoy our tasting event and the Sacramento Music Festival,” Sommerfield added.
Many of the festival venues are within walking distance of the California Automobile Museum.
The four-day music festival over Memorial Day weekend attracts tens of thousands annually and is well-known for its presentation of jazz, swing, blues, zydeco, rockabilly, bluegrass, Latin and other music styles in Old Sacramento and various downtown venues.
