CLEARLAKE, Calif. – Clearlake Police officers, along with law enforcement agents from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, conducted a special enforcement event regarding crimes involving alcohol this past Sunday.
During the enforcement, officers and agents responded to more than 45 locations within the city of Clearlake in an attempt to locate subjects who had outstanding warrants relating to alcohol, according to a report from the Clearlake Police Department.
Additionally, numerous subjects were contacted within city parks and public areas and arrested for various alcohol-related crimes, including public intoxication and open alcohol containers in public, police said.
During the operation, officers arrested 16 individuals for outstanding misdemeanor warrants, police reported. One individual was arrested for possession of a control substance.
Four individuals were cited for violations of the city municipal code relating to open alcoholic containers in public. Additionally, police said one individual was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
Four of the 16 individuals were booked into the Lake County Jail. The remaining subjects were booked into the Clearlake Police Department and later released on citations, police said.
This special enforcement operation was made possible by a grant from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
