LAKEPORT, Calif. – Lakeport Police are searching for a man who is alleged to have threatened and attacked his friend's caregiver.
Allen Lee Timms Jr., 28, is wanted in connection to the incident, which police say occurred on Saturday, Aug. 24.
Lakeport Police Chief Brad Rasmussen said that at about 5:35 p.m. Saturday Lakeport Police Department units were dispatched to the 100 block of First Street to investigate the report of a female subject being attacked by a male subject who was armed with a knife.
He said officers searched for the subject but were unable to locate him.
Officers investigated the incident and determined that the 42-year-old female victim from Kelseyville was at a home in the 100 block of First Street, acting as a caretaker for the 52-year-old male resident, Rasmussen said.
The resident’s friend, who was identified by officers as Timms, was at the residence and became upset, alleging that the resident was not being provided enough pain medication, according to Rasmussen.
The victim advised Timms that he needed to allow her to do her job and his anger escalated, at which time she asked him to leave, Rasmussen said.
Timms then produced a folding knife and the victim attempted to escape into a bathroom then a bedroom and closed the door, Rasmussen said. Timms forced his way in, knocking her down.
Rasmussen said Timms threatened the victim with harm but she was able to run out of the house and contact police.
Timms has not yet been located but the investigation is being submitted to the Lake County District Attorney's Office for criminal charges against him, Rasmussen said.
Anyone with information about Timms' whereabouts can call the Lakeport Police Department at 707-263-5491.
