LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lake County Chapter of California Women for Agriculture (LCCWA) held its fall installation social on Nov. 23 at the Rivera Hill Restaurant in Kelseyville this year.
The chapter’s 2014 officers were inaugurated at the event, including Ellen Heath, area representative, South County; Karen Hook, area representative, Kelseyville; Claudia Street, co-vice president; Sharron Zoller, president; Margaret Eutenier; Paula Bryant, treasurer; Cheri Cunningham, corresponding secretary; Bonnie Sears, area representative, Lakeport and Facebook coordinator.
Margaret Eutenier, LCCWA member and former LCCWA president several years ago, installed the new officers.
“Our chapter has a very ambitious schedule for 2014,” incoming President Sharron Zoller said. “Our membership continues to grow and AgVenture has been a great tool for educating our business community and politicians about the importance of agriculture in our economy.”
The AgVenture program was created in 2010 to educate local community leaders about the role of agriculture in Lake County.
“We’re heartened by the popularity of the AgVenture program,” added incoming Co-Vice President Claudia Street. “Our chapter is fortunate to have such great chemistry and a genuine passion for informing our community about the importance that agribusiness plays in our day-to-day life.”
LCCWA is one of 20 chapters in the state and was established in May of 1976.
The chapter provides information and networking opportunities so that members can make a difference at local, state and federal levels.
LCCWA was the fifth chapter in the state of California to charter and the inaugural group of 30 women was led by Marilyn Holdenried.
