Lakeport City Council to hold special meeting to approve funeral procession street closure

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lakeport City Council will hold a special meeting on Thursday, Jan. 23, to consider approval of a street closure for a funeral procession.

The meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the council chambers at Lakeport City Hall, 225 Park St.

The council will consider closing 16th Street between N. High and Hartley on Saturday, Jan. 25, for the staging of a funeral procession for 11-year-old Ronnie Dekeyser III. The funeral is anticipated to take place the following day.

The child, who was made an honorary Lakeport Police officer in October, died on Monday after a long battle with an inoperable brain tumor.
