Clearlake Police hosts K9 training

CLEARLAKE, Calif. – The Clearlake Police Department last week held a training for its own K9 unit as well as units from other police agencies.

The training was held on the evening of Monday, Feb. 3, at Mendo Mill Home Center and Lumber Co. on Old Highway 53 in Clearlake, according to Sgt. Rodd Joseph, Clearlake Police's K9 unit supervisor.

Joseph said the facility provided real world training for the K-9 teams.

He said this type of training is crucial to the development and maintenance of a successful K-9 program, and is required as part of his department’s monthly training needs.

The Clearlake Police Department and the Clearlake Police Department K-9 Unit thanked Mendo Mill for hosting this much-needed training and for the business' continuing support.
