LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The driver in a suspected drunk driving crash that occurred east of Clearlake Oaks Saturday evening was arrested and flown to a regional trauma center for medical care.
Timothy James Regoli, 24, was injured in the crash and later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP Officer Joe Wind said that Regoli, accompanied by an unidentified passenger, was driving a Chevrolet 1500 pickup north on Walker Ridge Road, six miles north of Highway 20, shortly after 5:30 p.m. when he ran off the road and the pickup overturned.
Regoli was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the pickup, Wind said.
Wind said Regoli suffered moderate injuries.
He was transported via REACH 7 air ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where he was released for treatment of his injuries following his arrest, according to Wind.
The passenger was not injured in the crash, Wind said.
