Lakeport Police Department issues traffic advisories for Oct. 4 events

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lakeport Police Department has issued traffic advisories to urge the public to maintain awareness and drive with caution on streets and roadways as the Konocti Challenge, Oktoberfest and Sponsoring Survivorship take place in the city this Saturday.

Sponsoring Survivorship

Sponsoring Survivorship will hold 2K, 5K and 10K walks/runs from Main Street at Bank of America to the Pit Stop on Lakeshore Boulevard north of the city of Lakeport. 

Event setup will start at 6 a.m. with the walk/runs starting at 9 a.m. and ending by 11 a.m.

The route will be north on Main Street to west on Clearlake Avenue to north on N. High Street to north on Lakeshore Boulevard to its ending, where walkers/runners will then turn around and follow the same route back to Bank of America. 

Approximately 400 persons are expected to be in attendance. Lakeport Police units will be in the area to provide for traffic safety.

Konocti Challenge

The Rotary Club of Lakeport Konocti Challenge annual bicycle event featuring 20-, 40-, 65- and 100-mile rides on the streets and roads of Lake County will be based out of the Skylark Shores Resort on N. Main Street in Lakeport. 

Expect to see bicycles on the streets leaving the city at various times in the morning starting at 7 a.m. and returning as late as 6 p.m.

Motorists are urged to drive safely and watch for the bicycles on the roads. 

Seven hundred people persons are expected to be in attendance.

Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest will take place on Main Street between First and Fourth streets in downtown Lakeport between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Three thousand people are expected to be in attendance.

Street closures will be in effect starting at 6 a.m. continuing until approximately 11 p.m. and will include Main Street between First and Fourth streets, Third Street between Forbes Street and the alley between Main and Park streets, and Second Street between Forbes Street and the alley between Main and Park streets.
