Air quality board appoints alternate members

LAKE COUNTY –The Lake County Board of Directors have appointed alternate members to the Lake County Air Quality Management District Hearing Board.


The Board of Directors has appointed Lowell Grant the alternate public member and Nancy Perrin the alternate medical profession member to the Lake County Air Quality Management District Hearing Board, Bob Reynolds of the Air Quality Management District reported.


Perrin and Grant are welcomed by the current hearing board members: Cameron Reeves, chairman and legal member who has served for two years; Nikki White, vice chairman and public member who has served for 29 years; Dr. Morton Levine, medical profession member who has served for 18 years; Walt Wilcox, public member who has served for 13 years after retiring from the Board of Supervisors; and Roger Bakke, engineer member who has served for five years.


The hearing board meets several times a year to consider variances, abatement orders and permit appeals of Air Pollution Control Officer’s decisions.


Hearings are formal and judicial in nature. The hearing board takes sworn testimony and reviews technical and legal documents in order to make legally binding decisions.


The hearing board members have shown a dedication to their community and to preserving our superior air quality and the District would like to thank them for their years of dedication and service.
