MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – This week the Middletown Area Town Hall will hold an election for new board members, discuss community events and projects, and get an update on a proposal for a Dollar General store.
MATH's meeting will take place in the activity room at the Middletown Community Center, 21256 Washington St., beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8.
Meetings are open to the community.
One of the chief items of business for MATH on Thursday will be the election of new board members.
The current board of directors includes Chairman Fletcher Thornton, Vice Chair Claude Brown, Secretary Ken Gonzales, and members Laura Helton and Mike Tabacchi.
There will be a meet and greet for board candidates followed by the election, which is scheduled to take place at the end of the meeting.
In other business, the group will discuss the Wild Diamond Vineyard on Spruce Grove Road and a proposal for a Dollar General store at 20900 S. State Highway 29.
Other items on the agenda for Thursday include public input, the approval of the minutes from the Dec. 11 regular meeting, a small business presentation from Lovie's Garden Supply, funding for movies at the park, a chili cookoff planned for May 22 and the Feb. 12 agenda.
MATH – established by resolution of the Lake County Board of Supervisors on Dec. 12, 2006 – is a municipal advisory council serving the residents of Anderson Springs, Cobb, Coyote Valley (including Hidden Valley Lake), Long Valley and Middletown.
