The meeting starts at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Board of Supervisors Chambers at the Lake County Courthouse, 255 N. Forbes. The meeting will be broadcast on TV Channel 8.
During the board's afternoon session, which begins at 1:30 p.m., they will consider amending the Lake County Zoning Ordinance pertaining to telecommunication facilities, including cellular towers and antennae.
Last year, after dealing with objections to one Upper Lake cell facility, the county realized its ordinance needed an overhaul, according to a statement Community Development Director made at a January Planning Commission meeting. The county's revised ordinance is looking at a number of priorities set out by the board, including sufficiency of design plans, aesthetic impacts, analysis of feasible alternatives and whether coverage already exists in an area.
Another communications-related issue, under untimed items, is a proposed memorandum of understanding by and between the county and the Lake County Ham Operators’ Association for volunteers to provide Ham radio services in emergency situations. The board will consider approving the agreement.
In other board business, beginning at 9:15 a.m., the board will present a proclamation designating the month of June as Homeless Youth Awareness Month in Lake County.
At 9:30 a.m., board members will discuss and consider waiving permit fees in the amount of $215 for the Nor-Cal Boat and Ski Club, and consider approval of a property usage permit and administrative encroachment permit for the Nor-Cal Boat and Ski Cub.
Other untimed items for the day include consideration of approval of findings of fact in William Sullivan's appeal of the Planning Commission’s approval of a solar generation facility for Northern California Power Agency and Sunpower Inc., located at 2485 Old Highway 53, Clearlake.
The board also will consider a proposed uniform, dress and clothing purchase policy; a status report and discussion on court facility transfer negotiations; consider a request for approval of advanced step hiring of a half-time permanent family nurse practitioner due to applicant’s extraordinary qualifications; consider Deputy Social Services Director Kathy Maes' request to travel to Arlington, Va., to attend the US Department of Health and Human Services Regional Partnership Grantee Annual Meeting from June 30 through July 3 (costs will be reimbursed by the Federal Administration for Children and Families Grant).
A second reading of an ordinance establishing a pool use fee schedule for the Middletown County Pool for the Public Services Department's Parks Division also is among untimed items.
After adjourning from the public portion of the meeting, the board will hold a conference with labor negotiators.
