Mendocino County officials to take courtesy aid program applications for Valley fire

NORTH COAST, Calif. – In an effort to provide support in the wake of the Valley Fire, Mendocino County Health and Human Services Agency (MCHHSA) will accept courtesy applications for CalWORKs (cash aid), CalFresh (Food Stamps) and Medi-Cal benefits from Lake County residents currently displaced by the fire.

The application will “save the date” for the beginning of benefits, and be forwarded to the Lake County Department of Social Services for processing.

MCHHSA currently has staff available to assist applicants while the emergency shelter located in the Fine Arts building at the Redwood Empire Fairgrounds at 1055 North State St. in Ukiah is in operation.

Additionally, courtesy applications can be obtained or turned in at any of the MCHHSA Social Services offices: in Ukiah at 737 South State St., in Willits at 221 South Lenore Ave., and in Fort Bragg at 764 South Franklin St.

As a reminder you may also apply on line at https://c4yourself.com/c4yourself/index.jsp and if you need WiFi access, county libraries do have computers and access to the Internet.
