Council to receive Soper-Reese update, discuss bonds

LAKEPORT – The Lakeport City Council will hold a special budget workshop Tuesday followed by a regular meeting, at which it will hear a presentation on the Soper-Reese Community Theater and convene jointly as the Redevelopment Agency Board.

The budget session begins at 3 p.m. at City Hall, 225 Park St., and will be followed by the regular council meeting at 6 p.m.

Under public presentations, the Lake County Arts Council will give a status update on the Soper-Reese, which has received redevelopment funds from the city for its restoration project.

Convening jointly as the council and Redevelopment Agency board, members will approve a resolution to authorize redevelopment bond proceeds to be entered in the Local Agency Investment Fund, adopt a resolution that covers an investment policy for idle funds and approve an agreement with Ruff and Associates for design services for the Facade Improvement Project.

The council will discuss a resolution in support of the North Coast Rail Authority and the restoration of rail freight and passenger service along the North Coast.

City Attorney Steve Brookes also will bring to the council a discussion, with possible action, regarding payment of increases for retiree health benefits.
