LAKEPORT – The Lakeport City Council has approved a phase map for a subdivision developers are beginning to build next door to Westside Community Park.
Acting City Manager Richard Knoll said the council approved the phase 1 map last week for the Parkside subdivision, located off Westside Park Road.
Schellinger Brothers, a Santa Rosa-based developer that has had other projects in Lake County, is building the homes, Knoll added.
“We're going through the process of making sure all the conditions have been satisfied and the final map is being recorded,” Knoll said.
The subdivision has about 96 lots, he said. Building permits have been issued for four model homes that he said are already under construction. “They have started the subdivision, which they are allowed to do,” he said.
The developers have already installed curb and gutter, and built the subdivision's roads, he said. “So, basically, the subdivision itself, at least the first phase, is pretty well built.”
Knoll added, “It should be a good project.”
