CLEARLAKE, Calif. – The Lake County Democratic Party held its 23rd annual Democratic Legislator’s Barbecue fundraiser on Oct. 8.
The group called the event “a resounding success” and thanked everyone in the community who contributed to it.
Keynote speakers were Board of Equalization chair and candidate for California state treasurer, Fiona Ma, and California Democratic Party vice chair and Los Angeles County Democratic Party chair, Eric Bauman, who enthusiastically addressed guests.
The club also extended its gratitude extends to the county's members of Congress, John Garamendi and Mike Thompson, for their attendance and remarks, as well as their generous sponsorship of the event.
Special acknowledgments go to State Senator Mike McGuire for his sponsorship and our Democratic candidate for Assembly District 4, Cecilia Aguiar-Curry.
Monica Rosenthal and Joey Luiz, Democratic candidates for Lake County supervisor and Clearlake City Council, respectively, led the ceremonies with style and humor.
Union partners in the event, the California Teachers Association, Laborers International Local #324; North Bay Labor Council; Operating Engineers Local 3 Unit 10, IBEW Local 551, SEIU Local 2015, Sonoma, Mendocino, Lake Building and Trades Council, United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 38 and Teamsters Local 665, attended and provided generous sponsorships for their members and guests.
Chatterbox Catering of Clearlake, provided the side dishes and desserts. The club thanked Clearlake City Council member and candidate Joyce Overton for their services.
Local Lake County businesses, Backyard Garden Oasis, Butterfly Skin Essentials, Clarke’s Collectibles, David Engle Hair Designs, Twin Pine Casino and Watershed Books supported the barbecue by donating to the silent auction. Their contributions are invaluable.
The barbecue could not have happened without the enthusiastic work of the members of the Democratic Party of Lake County.
Democratic Club President Rich East provided another delicious tri-tip barbecue. Celesta and Norm Deter, once again, organized and mounted one of the most successful silent auctions ever.
Finally, the Lake County Democrats wanted to especially thank all of its guests and each of the Lake County elected officials for your attendance and continued support of the Lake County Democratic Party.
