LOWER LAKE, Calif. – On Tuesday, Nov. 1, all student who attended Carlé High School celebrated our annual Harvest Fest.
The Harvest Fest is a whole day affair run by our student council that’s packed full of fun activities and friendly competition.
Our new teacher, Lance Christian, and his advisory – Kevin Wylie, Candice Safreno, Anna Pallett, Ryan O’Bryan, Michael Solano, Alfred Lewis, Donovan Harvey, Brianna E. Legg, Ramon Bassett, Kacy Barron and Aries McDonald – buried the competition with a winning score of 58. Congrats!
On Nov. 9 Christian was awarded with a victory plaque with all the names of his advisory students designed by Sam Miller.
On Nov. 8 Carlé warmly welcomed a very special guest speaker Maggie Steel. Arranged by our counselor Lilly Edson, Maggs came and talked to the entire student body of Carlé about life choices and that their lives matter and the choices they make now could be hurtful to them later. She was one of the most amazing women we have ever met.
Media students busted out some beautiful designs. Stacie Clemons made a fantastic keychain that Maggie said she loved it and it was her favorite keychain ever. Brianna E. Legg made Mrs. Steel an awesome bookmark and amazing mug. From Carlé’ High School one more time a big “thank you Aunty.”
Two weeks ago gold level students from the first grade period were taken on their gold level trip to the Scandia Family Fun Center.
“We had a blast,” one student said. Another said, “We should go again as a school.”
Last week we had two students of the week. The first was Alfred Lewis.
Nominating teacher Alan Siegel had this to say: “Alfred really takes his role at Carlé seriously. He has played a great role in running the sound system for the silver level movie and was an important person in the success at our Harvest festival.”
The second student of the week was Haley Ramirez. Nominating teacher Lance Christian said this: “She is an outstanding student. She remains focused, comes to school everyday, and always tries her best.”
In future articles we will have interviews with our new teacher and new secretary as well as details on our joint project with Chief Martin to thank all first responders and helpers from the Clayton fire.
In addition we will detail the awesome kindness from the folks from “Totes for Teens.”
Brianna E. Legg is a student at Carlé Continuation High School in Lower Lake.
