LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lakeport City Council's first meeting of the new year will include the official introduction of the new county supervisor representing the Lakeport area, honors for an outgoing planning commissioner and committee appointments.
The council will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, in the council chambers at Lakeport City Hall, 225 Park St.
At the start of the meeting, the council will receive new District 4 Supervisor Tina Scott.
Scott will succeed Anthony Farrington on the Lake County Board of Supervisors. She is due to take her oath of office on Tuesday morning.
The council also will present a proclamation honoring Thomas Gayner for his years of service on the Lakeport Planning Commission.
Under council business, Mayor Stacey Mattina will appoint council members to various liaisons, committees and commissions.
The council also is anticipated to adopt a resolution appointing representatives to represent and vote on behalf of the city at the League of California Cities' Redwood Empire Division Business meetings and represent the city and vote at Division Legislative Committee meetings.
In other business, Police Chief Brad Rasmussen will take to the council a request to approve a purchase order with Total Security Solutions in the amount of $34,032.32 for the purchase and installation of bullet proof security windows at the new police department headquarters at 2025 S. Main St.
On the meeting's consent agenda – items considered noncontroversial and usually accepted as a slate on one vote – are ordinances and minutes of the Dec. 20 regular council meeting.
