CLEARLAKE OAKS, Calif. – The newly formed municipal advisory committee to serve the Clearlake Oaks area will meet this week to finalize its bylaws, and discuss water and a grading project.
The East Region 3 Town Hall, or EaRTH, will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at the Live Oak Senior Center, 12502 Foothill Blvd.
Agenda items for the meeting include approval of the bylaws, which the group began working on at its first meeting late in 2016, according to member Heather McFadden.
Discussion items on the agenda include sediment and water quality in the Clearlake Keys, in particular, stormwater runoff into the channels from both on- and offsite sources.
Committee members also will discuss a proposed grading permit exemption on four parcels for a vineyard project located at 13555 Highway 20, 13655 Highway 20, 13400 Jensen Road and 13570 Jensen Road.
The meeting also will offer the chance for public comment from the community.
At the request of District 3 Supervisor Jim Steele, the Board of Supervisors voted in May to form EaRTH.
In October, the board unanimously appointed EaRTH's five board members, including McFadden, representing the Clearlake Oaks Keys Property Owners Association; Robert Hendrickson, Spring Valley Property Owners Association; James Burton, Clearlake Oaks Business Association; and Denise Loustalot, the former mayor of Clearlake, and Michael L. Herman as at-large members.
EaRTH is the second municipal advisory committee to be created by the Board of Supervisor to serve various parts of Lake County.
The Middletown Area Town Hall, or MATH, was formed in December 2006. It meets the second Thursday of every month at the Middletown Senior and Community Center.
In July, the Cobb Area Council was created. It meets on the third Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Little Red School House, 15780 Bottle Rock Road.
McFadden said that EaRTH is scheduled to meet the first Wednesday of every month. The location may change for future meetings.
