LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lakeport Planning Commission will hold its first meeting of 2017 on Wednesday, at which time it will welcome new members, appoint its leadership and discuss its goals for the year.
The commission will meet beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, in the council chambers at 225 Park St.
With longtime Commissioner Tom Gayner stepping down at the end of 2016 and another commissioner, George Spurr, getting elected to the Lakeport City Council, the council last month appointed Michael Green and Michael Froio to the two vacant seats, and reappointed Ken Wicks Jr. to the Lakeport Planning Commission, as Lake County News has reported.
On Wednesday, the commission will elect its officers for the coming year, and city staff will review and discuss with the commissioners their roles and responsibilities.
In other business, there will be a discussion on the goals and work plan for the Lakeport Planning Department and the commission in the coming year.
Planning staff also will present a list of current projects pending the city planning department's approval as of Jan. 5.
