MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – This week the Middletown Area Town Hall will hear from a county official about building rules and also get an update about the transfer of a south county museum to county operations.
MATH will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at the Middletown Community Center, 21256 Washington St.
Meetings are open to the community, and offer the opportunity for additional public input on items not included on the agenda.
At the top of the agenda is a building code update from Community Development Director Bob Massarelli.
Massarelli's department is tasked with handling the permitting for the unincorporated county, which includes the south county areas impacted by the Valley fire.
In other business, Voris Brumfield will give an update on the transfer of the Gibson Museum from the Lake County Historical Society to Lake County Museum System.
The Board of Supervisors voted in September to add the Gibson Museum – located in a county-owned building that formerly served as Middletown's library – to the roster of county museums, which also includes the Lower Lake Historic Schoolhouse Museum and the Historic Courthouse Museum.
On Thursday, there also will be updates on the Valley fire memorial, the proposed Middletown Bocce League and MATH's bylaws revision.
The MATH Board includes Chair Claude Brown, Vice Chair Linda Diehl-Darms, Secretary Fletcher Thornton, and members Lisa Kaplan and Gregg Van Oss.
MATH – established by resolution of the Lake County Board of Supervisors on Dec. 12, 2006 – is a municipal advisory council serving the residents of Anderson Springs, Cobb, Coyote Valley (including Hidden Valley Lake), Long Valley and Middletown.
Meetings are subject to videotaping.
