LUCERNE, Calif. – The latest in a series of new municipal advisory committees held its first meeting earlier this month.
The Middle Region Town Hall, or MRTH, met Feb. 17 at the Northshore Community Center in Lucerne.
MRTH’s members are Daniel DeBonis, Dr. Robert Gardner, Virginia Graziani, Beth Shaver and Paul Smith. They were appointed on Feb. 7 by the Board of Supervisors.
District 3 Supervisor Jim Steele received the board’s approval to form MRTH in January.
He sought to create the group to advise him on matters related to the Lucerne area.
The main topic of MRTH’s Feb. 17 meeting was the proposal for a Dollar General store to be located at 5905 E. State Highway 20 in Lucerne, which is next to Morrison Creek and on the shore of Clear Lake.
The group’s consensus after its discussion on the proposal was that the site was not a good location for the store.
The full meeting, which lasted just over an hour and a half, can be seen above.
MRTH’s next meeting date and agenda have not yet been announced.
