CLEARLAKE, Calif. – The Clearlake Police Department has launched a new project as part of its community oriented policing efforts.

Under the direction of acting Chief Tim Celli, the department is conducting a trading card and poster project.

Local individuals and businesses are encouraged to sponsor their favorite officer, volunteer, dispatcher, chaplain or K9 – including Zip and Bear – at a cost of $20 per sponsorship.

Posters of the entire department also will be available at an additional cost of $20 each.

The Clearlake Police Department reported that it’s working to enhance public safety by providing professional, trustworthy service in partnership with the community.

To that end, the card sponsor program is meant to allow city residents to express their personal commitment to the department’s public servants.
