Co-op plans field trip to Kelseyville Farmers Market

KELSEYVILLE – Have you been to the Kelseyville Certified Farmers Market? If not, you’re in for a treat!

The Lake County Community Co-op (LCCC) will host a free field trip to the Kelseyville Farmers Market at Steele Wines on Saturday, July 11, from 10 a.m. to noon.

The market is located at Steele Wines along Highway 29 at Thomas Road.

If you have not had a chance to mosey on down to this lively, long-established farmers market (their hours are 8:30 a.m. to noon each Saturday until October), this is your chance to meet other LCCC members and to purchase some fresh produce grown by Lake County’s finest.

Plus, we will be filming this trip and future ones so that those at home can learn by viewing on TV8 about what resources we have around the lake for local grown, much of it organic, produce.

Also, note that the LCCC has its own farmers market, too, held in Clearlake at Redbud Park on Friday nights, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Live music and lots of local, fresh-picked produce is available.

We want to share our wonderful local resources with our co-op members and the general public at large. If you’d like to carpool over to the Kelseyville Farmers Market, meet at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at 14773 Lakeshore Drive in Clearlake (at Golf Road and site of the LCCC’s Thursday night produce box CSA pick up). For more information, call Lori at 707-994-1618.

Celebrating one and one half years in existence and now 300 members strong, the Lake County Community Co-op envisions cultivating an evolving community by nurturing values of social, economic and environmental responsibility.

The co-op wishes to support our local farmers and producers and provide a forum for community activities.
