The operation will be conducted in cooperation with several other state and county allied law enforcement agencies, according to Capt. James Bauman.
The checkpoint is intended to reduce the number of alcohol-related accidents and injuries, and enforce California boating laws on the lake, Bauman said.
Boaters entering the checkpoint will be stopped briefly and questioned and those operators showing signs of alcohol use or intoxication may be subjected to further testing, according to Bauman.
Bauman said boaters determined to have a blood-alcohol content higher than .08 percent may be subject to arrest and incarceration as prescribed by law.
