CLEARLAKE, Calif. – The city of Clearlake once again hosted its Halloween trick-or-treat event for children and families on Wednesday, Oct. 31.

City staff welcomed children in the decorated lobby of city hall, and handed out  hundreds of mylar trick-or-treat bags with candy, toys, comic books and crayons.

Children also received toothbrushes, kids books from the Hospice Thrift Store, stuffed animals and pizza.

Community groups and organizations that helped make the event possible included the Clearlake Police Officers Association, Foods Etc., Cecil's Pizza, Chuck and Vicki Leonard, Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce, Clearlake Cottages and Marina, Clearlake Automotive, Grocery Outlet and Carl and Carol Webb.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Supervisors, County of Lake, State of California, has set TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 2012, AT 9:45 A.M., Board Chambers, Courthouse, 255 North Forbes Street, Lakeport, as time and place to consider A PROPOSED ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 13 OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE COUNTY OF LAKE PERTAINING TO REPLACEMENT OF THE COURTESY NOTIFICATION PROCESS, ESTABLISHING REQUEST FOR HEARING PROCEDURES AND ADDING ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS FOR COST RECOVERY.

This proposed ordinance reduces the minimum times involved in standard abatement cases from approximately 70 days to approximately 40 days, while still ensuring due process, and will provide additional options for cost recovery. A certified copy of the proposed Ordinance is available at the Office of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, Courthouse, 255 North Forbes Street, Room 109, Lakeport, CA.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that at said place and time, any interested persons may appear and be heard.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Supervisors, County of Lake, State of California, has set TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2012, AT 10:15 A.M., Board Chambers, Courthouse, 255 North Forbes Street, Lakeport, as time and place to consider A PROPOSED ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER THREE OF THE LAKE COUNTY CODE CONCERNING THE COMMERCIAL WEIGHING AND MEASURING DEVICE PROGRAM AND THE ANNUAL REGISTRATION FEES FOR INSPECTION AND TESTING OF WEIGHING AND MEASURING DEVICES.

This proposed ordinance decreases the Device Registration location fee from $100 to $80 per location and prevents the increase of other specific device fees as prescribed in AB 1623. It also partially off-sets the new California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) Division of Measurement Standards (DMS) Administration fee.
