NORTH COAST, Calif. – A man whose body was found near the Pacific Ocean last weekend has been identified.
Daniel Gregory Kolb, 34, a transient from Colorado, was found on the shore near Westport on April 7, according to Capt. Kurt Smallcomb.
Smallcomb said an autopsy was conducted on Kolb on Monday.
He said Kolb's injuries were consistent with being submerged in the ocean for several days and eventually being located along the rocky shoreline.
On Tuesday, Kolb was positively identified, according to Smallcomb.
Mendocino County Sheriff's detectives are continuing the investigation into the decedent's death, Smallcomb said.
