LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Bikers from around Lake County and beyond got on their bikes and headed out on the 23rd Konocti Challenge bike ride Saturday.

The annual event is a fundraiser for the Lakeport Rotary.

Ride Director Jennifer Strong said they had a record number of riders this year, coming in at just under 800.

She called the turnout “just phenomenal,” especially considering that another large ride was taking place elsewhere in the region.

The bright, fall day turned out to be a perfect backdrop for the ride, with visiting bicyclists noting the county's beauty and the great weather.
