LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Snow fell in parts of Lake County on Sunday as the latest series of winter storms continued.
Snow was reported not just in the higher elevations – with snow ringing the mountaintops around Clear Lake – but in other locations as well, including Kelseyville, Lucerne and Upper Lake. However, the snow didn't stick in the lower elevations.
Rain also continued through the day. The National Weather Service's network of observation stations reported the following rainfall totals, in inches, for the 24-hour period ending at 1 a.m. Monday:
• Bear Canyon (Middletown): 1.15.
• Boggs Mountain: 0.94.
• Cache Creek (near Lower Lake): 1.01.
• Hidden Valley Lake: 0.74.
• High Glade Lookout (above Upper Lake):
• Indian Valley Reservoir: 0.74.
• Jerusalem Grade (Middletown): 1.19.
• Kelseyville: 0.83.
• Putah Creek (Middletown): 1.04.
• Soda Creek at Lake Pillsbury): 0.86
• Upper Lake: 0.90.
• Whispering Pines: 1.28.
As of 2:15 a.m., Clear Lake's level was at 8.39 feet Rumsey, nearly a foot over its “full” mark.
The National Weather Service's specific Lake County forecast calls for a break in the rain on Tuesday night, with possible showers on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, before several dry days are anticipated.
