LAKEPORT, Calif. – GW Alridge, 80, son of Henry Alridge Jr. and Savannah Marie (Hemphill) Jones, and loving husband of Linda Alridge, passed away on Feb. 6, 2017, at his home in Lakeport, after a long battle with cancer.
His wife, Linda, and two sons Anthony Bass and Gary Alridge survive him. Two grandchildren Christopher and Demetrius survive him as well as siblings Mary Crawford, Savanna Marie Banks, Dorothy Matthew, Jessie Lee Jones, Cootie May Myers, Archie Paul Jones, Effie May Jones and Glenn Jones, and numerous nephews and nieces.
GW served in the United States Navy for four years.
He also worked for the United States Postal Service for 25 years until his retirement in 1992.
In his younger years he was part of a motorcycle club named The Vagabonds. GW’s favorite past times were playing dominoes, riding motorcycles, and spending time with family and friends. His favorite sports teams were the Oakland Raiders, Oakland A’s, and the Golden State Warriors.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary on Sunday, Feb. 12, from 9 to 11 a.m. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m.
