
LUCERNE, Calif. – More than two dozen residents of a Lucerne apartment complex were displaced on Wednesday due to a flooding issue.
Northshore Fire officials were called to the North Shore Villas apartments on Wednesday evening, according to radio reports.
North Shore Villas is a senior affordable housing complex located at 5860 E. Highway 20.
Reports from the scene indicated the building’s sprinklers had been triggered, causing flooding in the building.
Northshore Fire Chief Mike Ciancio confirmed at the scene that the call was in response to flooding in the building.
Fire officials said the structure was uninhabitable and asked for Red Cross to respond to assist with finding temporary housing for 31 residents.
Additional details at the scene were not immediately available on Wednesday evening.
Units cleared the scene shortly before 11 p.m., according to radio reports.
