LAKEPORT, Calif. – The delightful 1964 romantic comedy, “Father Goose,” starring Cary Grant and Leslie Caron, screens at the Soper Reese Theatre on Tuesday, June 26, at 1 and 6 p.m.

Entry to the film is by donation.

Cary Grant runs counter to type by playing a scrubby beach bum who intends to sit out World War II in the South Pacific, lazing about getting drunk all day.

Leslie Caron changes all that as a strict school teacher with a gaggle of young students who become shipwrecked on Grant’s island and rouse him to heroic acts.

The movie is sponsored by Bill Kranz. Not rated. Run time is 1 hour and 58 minutes.

The Soper Reese Theatre is located at 275 S. Main St., Lakeport, 707-263-0577, www.soperreesetheatre.com.
