MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – Middletown Art Center’s Restore project features “Plaster Sculpture I: Materials and Techniques” with Emily Scheibal at Middletown Art Center this Sunday, Dec. 16, from 1 to 5 p.m.
Adults and teens 12 and up of all levels of art making experience, from newbies to professionals are invited to attend this fun and inspiring class for just $5. MAC will provide supplies. Please bring wire cutters and gloves if you have them.
“Spend the day with us while we play with different techniques to manipulate plaster impregnated gauze and hardware cloth for armatures in the MAC studio,” said Scheibal. “We’ll explore the theme of ‘Vessel’ as a metaphor. A vessel can be anything including a boat, amphora, or the human form. You are invited to express your own interpretation in the project you do in class.”
Scheibal’s work in plaster can be seen at www.emilyscheibal.com and at www.quinterrastudio.com.
